Letting a property: the complete checklist

From setting the rent and the inventory to insurance and choosing a reliable tenant.

Set a market rent based on location, floor area, energy performance, finish and comparable properties in the neighbourhood.

Make sure you have a proper tenancy agreement, a detailed check-in inventory and the required certificates. Agree clearly on who pays which costs and who handles maintenance.

Careful tenant screening reduces the risk of payment problems and empty periods. Treat all applicants consistently and respect the applicable privacy and anti-discrimination rules.
